Whilst BTC Racing have confirmed the return of Chris Smiley for the 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, the team itself has also re-organised over the winter.
It has been a super busy few months since the end of the 2018 season. The team was purchased by Steve Dudman back in October 2018, an ambitious businessman with a passion for motorsport which is an ethos which fits well with the team. Whilst Dudman has purchased the team, Bert Taylor remains as Team Director with Dudman working alongside him.
The last few months for Steve have been busy working with Taylor with both men holding big ambitions for the team, ahead of the 2019 BTCC season. Dudman explains his move to become involved further.
“Bert and I have been friends since 1996 and we have shared the same passion to race cars at the highest level to the best of our ability (and pockets), all of our careers,” explained Dudman.
“The opportunity to purchase the Team was unexpected but when it came to saving it at the end of last season, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
“In support of Bert and the rest of the Team who are all great people and professionals, I took up my place alongside them to work hard for success in the 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.”
In addition to this, since the arrival of new team ownership and management, BTC Racing now have brand new facilities in the heart of Motorsport Valley with the new race shop in Brackley.
The Race Shop is undergoing a significant investment in all new facilities for the Team ahead of a planned open day before the start of the season. The Open Day for the new facilities will be announced in due course.
