Volvo Rumored to be Looking at TCR for End of 2018

The 2017 World Touring Car Championship title winners from Volvo are looking at making the jump into TCR competition after it was officially confirmed that WTCC and TCR International will combine to become “WTCR” and run under TCR Technical regulations in 2018.  Few details have been released about the proposed program, but it is believed that Yvan Mueller and Thed Bjork will drive a car built around the Volvo V40 model.  The S60 was being used for WTCC TC1 competition.

The car will most likely not be ready until the end of 2018, but does allow for the brand to continue in International competition as well as Sweden’s STCC championship, which started running to TCR regulations in 2017.
