After getting the jump on pole-sitter Gabriele Tarquini when the lights went out, two-time TCR Germany champion Josh Files went on to win TCR Europe Trophy Race 1 at Adria in the #99 Target Competition Honda Civic. “I had a fantastic car. I took a great start and was able to keep Tarquini at bay. The old guy is still very quick and tough! He also hit me a few times,”said Files.
Tarquini and his Hyundai i30 N TCR would go on to finish second, just ahead of Giacomo Altoe and the second Target Competition Honda. While the Hyundai is under temporary homologation, second-place points will be awarded to Altoe.
Aurelien Comte would come home fourth in his DG Sport Peugeot with Antti Buri fifth in his LMS Racing Audi RS3 LMS.
