Grand PrixView – TCR Europe Trophy

The 2017 TCR Europe Trophy will be awarded this weekend at Adria International Raceway, a 1.65 mile, 17 turn circuit in Northern Italy.  Nine different series and eight different manufacturers will be represented by 16 drivers with points being scored for both drivers and teams.

TCR Germany champion Josh Files and Giacomo Altoe will be running two Honda Civics with Target Competition. Aurelien Comte will run a Peugeot 308 Racing Cup car for Peugeot Sport.  Antti Buri and Olli Kangas will race for LMS Racing with Buri in an Audi and Kangas in a SEAT.  Russians Lev Tolkachev and Denis Grigoriev will field two SEAT Leon DSGs for Innocenti-AMG Motorsport.   Luca Engstler and Florian Thoma, the two youngest drivers on the grid, will run VW Golf GTIs prepped by Engstler Motorsport.  Luigi Ferrara will run one Alfa Romeo Giulietta from V-Action Racing.   TCR Iberico champion Francisco Abreu will run a VW Golf GTI.  Maxime Potty and Jose Manuel Perez-Aicart will field two SEAT Leons from Monlau Competicion.  Plamen Kralev will field an Audi RS3 LMS from Kraf Racing and Gabriele Tarquini will run the Hyundia i30 N under temporary homologation.  Also under temporary homologation will be the Subaru WRX STI with a TBD driver at this time.

A look into the scoring system:

Drivers’

– Pre-Qualifying: 1 point per event will be allocated to each Driver who took part in any   TCR event during the 2017 season, up to a maximum of 5 points

– Qualifying: points will be awarded to the first five drivers classified in the Qualifying session according to the following scale:
1st: 5 points; 2nd: 4 pts; 3rd: 3 pts; 4th: 2 pts; 5th: 1 pt

– Races: points will be awarded to the ten drivers classified in each Race according to the following scale:

1st: 25 points; 2nd: 18 pts; 3rd: 15 pts; 4th: 12 pts; 5th: 10 pts; 6th: 8 pts; 7th: 6 pts; 8th: 4 pts; 9th: 2 pts; 10th: 1 pt

Teams’

– Races: points will be awarded to the best two cars of each team classified in each Race according to the following scale:

1st: 25 points; 2nd: 18 pts; 3rd: 15 pts; 4th: 12 pts; 5th: 10 pts; 6th: 8 pts; 7th: 6 pts; 8th: 4 pts; 9th: 2 pts; 10th: 1 pt

Lap distance: 2.70 km
Race distance: 23 laps
Start: standing
Grids: determined by the Qualifying results (Q1+Q2) with top 10 reversed for Race 2

Saturday, 10:00/10:30 – Free Practice 1
Saturday, 12:00/12:30 – Free Practice 2
Saturday, 15:00/15:35 – Qualifying (Q1 + Q2)
Sunday, 12:35 – Race 1
Sunday, 14:35 – Race 2
