Harold Proczyk took the win, but Josh Files took the headlines as he finished in 10th position, giving him enough points to once again claim the ADAC TCR Germany championship. Files has won an impressive five races during the 2017 campaign with his Target Competition Honda Civic and has one more chance tomorrow to claim a sixth victory.
During the race, Proczyk started from pole in his HP Racing Opel Astra and was able to hold off the charging duo of Mike Halder and Steve Kirsch. Halder would end up second with Kirsch third while 17 year old Sheldon van der Linde would come home fourth. Another youngster, Luca Engstler, would finish 5th.
TCR Germany Race 2 from Hockenheim will start Sunday at 15:15.
