After facing a five place grid penalty for race 1 and having maximum ballast for the weekend, Roberto Colciago redeemed himself with the race 2 win after starting from pole, making a brilliant start, and running away with the victory. Despite the field closing up due to a safety car on lap 12, the M1RA Honda driver kept his cool and never seemed challenged for his third victory of the season.
With his weekend starting off on a low note with a massive wreck during testing, Atilla Tassi started 6th and moved up to finish a fantastic second behind his M1RA teammate. Stefano Comini followed up his race 1 podium by grabbing another after a great battle with Thomas Jager’s Opel. Comini now leads the championship standings 125-122 over Colciago with JK Vernay dropping to third with 113 points.
Jager would end up fourth with another impressive performance with Gianni Morbidelli coming home fifth.
