Benjamin Lessennes and Tom Coronel won Saturday’s TCR Benelux hour-long qualifying race from Zolder in their Boutsen Ginion Honda by a whopping 20 seconds over Team WRT’s #52 VW Golf of Maxime Potty and Matthieu Detry. Both Lessennes and Coronel set the fastest laps in their respective stints and will start Sunday’s sprint races from pole.
Sam Dejonghe and Denis Dupont would finish out the podium in their #7 WRT Seat Leon with the pairing of Kevin Abbring and Aurelien Comte coming in fourth for Peugeot.
Of note, the pairing of Stefano Comini and Ferderic Vervisch could withdraw from tomorrow’s sprint races as a precaution for their Audi RS3 LMS machine that Versvisch will use for TCR International’s round at Salzburgring next weekend.
Sprint Race 1 goes green tomorrow at 10:50am local time.
