Hyundai i30 TCR Could Move Up Race Debut to 2017

After completing two successful tests for the Korean manufacturer’s i30 TCR machine, Gabriele Tarquini, program development driver, told TouringCarTimes it’s a possibility the car makes it’s debut at the end of this season and not 2018 as originally planned.  “Perhaps we will enter a couple of races at the end of the year, I don’t know but it’s a possibility” said the 2009 WTCC champion while visiting the TCR paddock at Monza.

Rounds 16 and 17 of the 2017 TCR International season take place in Buriram, Thialand at Chang International Circuit with rounds 18 and 19 taking place in China at Zhejiang International Circuit, two locations relatively close to Hyundai’s headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.  The next test for the i30 takes place in just a few days time in Valencia, Spain at Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
